Social Service Specialist I
Description of Duties
This position of moderate difficulty is responsible for providing a variety of case management and outreach interventions to consumers in their natural environment. The candidate will serve as an advocate in assisting consumers in accessing community resources, teaching and modeling self-help and coping skills.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field, and two years of full-time work experience in the field of mental health. Any combination of an associate degree with two years of experience in community mental health outreach/case management or four years experience in community mental health outreach/case management may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one of the following: CPRP, LCSW, LPC or experience working with forensic and substance abuse populations. The ideal candidate will have excellent assessment and crisis management skills. This candidate will work closely with metro area hospitals, city/county jails and courts and must be able to negotiate system boundaries. The candidate must be a licensed driver in the good standing in the state of Georgia.
